FAQ

We’ve gathered the answers to the questions we get the most. Can’t find what you are looking for? Get in touch and we’ll sort it out.

  • Reformer pilates is a form of physical exercise performed on a machine called the reformer. The machine consists of a sliding carriage, springs to adjust the resistance, and straps for your hands and feet.

Different to mat pilates, reformer pilates also offers strength and flexibility exercises in addition to core control and stability.

Similar to mat pilates is that we focus on your breath, core, and the position of your pelvis and spine.

  • For our classes we ask you to come in comfortable exercise clothing and grip socks. If you don’t own a pair of grip socks yet, we sell them in the studio. Many people also bring a bottle of water, but we also sell drinks in the studio.

  • If you are new to reformer pilates we suggest you take a look at the highlight on instagram page in which we explain how the reformer machine works. We also have a highlight mentioning some of the poses and how to improve posture and alignment to have a more effective and safe workout

  • We are very centrally located in Barcelona on the right side of Eixample in the beautiful Golden Quarter, close to El Born, Poble Nou and Gràcia.

We are <15 minute walk from the Arc de Triomf, the Cathedral, the Picasso Museum, Casa Batlló, and <25 minute walk from Casa Mila and the Sagrada Familia.

  • Absolutely! We welcome all future moms and post natal mothers. However, we recommend you sign up for our specialized classes so we can ensure that you do exercises that are tailored to your specific needs.

  • Yes, but we always recommend you mention any injuries to our instructors before or at the beginning of the class. That way, they can help you adapt exercises to your needs.

If your injuries are severe we advise you to seek specialized support; as we are in a group class setting we aim to spread our attention evenly between every participant.

  • While there are many similarities between Lagree’s megaformer and reformer beds, the principles are different. Lagree was built from a body building perspective focusing mostly on strength and resistance.

We find reformer pilates more versatile in its ability to incorporate more types of exercises such as cardio and stretching. The design of the straps also allows for a larger number of exercises.

  • When it comes to the studio, the people and the method, we believe life should be stylish and fun.

We’ve created a studio environment that feels welcoming and warm: it’s designed more like a hotel or café so you will feel at home. We’ve included a coffee and tea station, and a big communal table to sit around.

Everyone that works at agō is there to give you the best experience possible. That is our unique approach.

  • We like to say that we honor the technique and precision of classical pilates and give it a modern twist. Call it contemporary, athletic, or dynamic pilates; we are not afraid to incorporate music, personality and an interdisciplinary approach into our routines. When you visit agō pilates studio, you will find that our method combines precision, rhythm, and joy.
